Montreal!
(Still under construction - josh.)
Montreal is most vibrant in the summer months. You will find plenty to enjoy in Montreal. We hope to provide you with as much info and help as you need. I would be happy to answer any question
you may have about your trip planning. Please do not hesitate to comment and or leave me a message.
Places to Visit
Old Port (aka Old Montreal)
Very European, right along the St-Lawrence river. Great place to walk around and enjoy the rich European architecture and French culture. Great out door cafes,
galleries, shops.
Downtown
Double decker city: since we have real long winters in Montreal we have an awesome subway system and underground passages that connects major downtown areas creating an underground city right below the heart of Montreal .
Mont-Royal
Central Park of Montreal, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, same designer who designed Central Park, NY. You can catch great view of the city from the top (chalet at Mont-Royal).
Rue St-Laurent
Trendy street/neighborhood: filled with bars, restaurants, lounges.
Rue St-Catherine
Busiest street in Montreal. Great for shopping and strip clubs.
Crescent Street
Pubs, bars.
Rue Sherbrooke
Museums, galleries, high end shopping.
Rue St-Denis
The equivalent of St-Laurent but mostly French, filled with restaurants and pubs.

SHOPPING
St-Catherine street is filled with stores. St-Laurent also has a number of store and it features some independent local designer stores. There are a lot of shopping malls/centers in Montreal, as a solution to our long winters, here are some of my favorite malls:
CENTRE EATON
LES COURS DE MONT ROYALE
MONTREAL TRUST
Department Stores
MAISON SIMONS: Quebec's own, has great finds.
THE BAIE: equivalent of Lord & Taylor
EATON: equivalent of Macy's, Lord & Taylor
HOLT RENFREW: high end, equivalent of Barney's, Saks
Montreal is also home to the following exciting events:
International World Jazz Festival: June 28th - July 8th 2007
International Fire Works
International Just for Laughs Festival
F1 Montreal Grand Prix
MUSEUMS
Montreal Fine Arts Museum
Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art
Canadian Center for Architecture

Those of you who just can't wait for the sugaring off season, which takes place sometime during late spring, can head to the Sucrerie de la Montagnefor a unique experience of sugar shack! You will not be able to tap the trees, but sugar shack is great fun, especially you if you go as a large group. This is my favorite sugar shack!
The Laurentides is also a great place to visit, if you like the outdoors. This is where all the mountains and parks are. In the summer there is tubing, hiking, canoeing. This is within a 1.5 hour drive from Montreal.
If you plan on a longer stay, we recommend you take some time and visit Quebec City(very French and very lovely). Quebec City is situated northeast of Montreal and is about a 3 hour drive.
The Niagara Falls are in Ontario near Toronto, which is southwest of Montreal. Niagara Falls is a 7.5 hour drive from Montreal.
